Groupbuy on GC's ended being a scam

Hey Lundgren....even though you verified that they were legit....now they are charging $298 for the coilovers even though they said $210 plus shipping....they are overcharging people credit cards without telling them...here's the link to the post on th Si board

We are investigating furthur, and have made several phone calls. It's doubtful they will post anymore buys.

The buyers were told about the price increase, and when you add shipping or california sales tax (free shipping), the price went to yes, $299 or so.

The problem came because some didn't get the email, and didn't have a chance to get out of the buy with the price change news arrived in their email box. Only 4-5 got out though when they found out they had to pay more, because it was still a good buy. The price went up because they had to get other parts from a real GC dealer, since the first batch turned out to be fakes. They didn't want to sell fakes.

Those who didn't get the email were pissed, and took their problems to the discussion boards, like club si.

I've offered to talk to anybody on this issue on the phone, and Intense Motorsports has spoken to several, all of whom are happy customers now. If they are not they can call me and I'll get it worked out with them. I sent a letter with my phone number to all participants, of which code10-54 was not one.


SSBP: Exactly. Makes me wonder why I try to run my own business, or attempt to do this Internet thing.

CivicR: Why, did you personally have problems with them?

BTW, this is one of the LARGEST shops in CA. They do have enemies, as they simply have done some much business. But like I said, we are taking action, because I don't like dealing with this on my site.

I'm glad I got mine locally($295) instead of group buy, thank God. I couldn't wait for the group buy shipping time and installed them myself the same day I got them.
